Here at BlackGayBlogger.com, I receive a lot of e-mails from you, the reading public. In just the first two weeks, I have already received an astounding 17,000+ hits! It’s good to know that y’all (there goes the Southerner in me creeping out) are stopping by to read up. I’ve decided to open up my Inbox and respond to some of your questions. Five e-mails every Saturday. You ready?

yo karsh whatszup babeeee boy dis yo boi T in STL hollan at yo. i got a question u top or bttm? –T

I get fielded this question a lot, both in real life and online. Truth be told, I don’t really care for sex and don’t like either role. And if that makes me less of a gay person, then so be it.

Karsh,

Where in Atlanta do you live?

–Doug

I live in Buckhead nearby a Barnes and Noble bookstore. I’ve been in the neighborhood now for about 3 years.

karsh

so what is up with you and dudes? are you just like not into them or are you bisexual?

–J (not to be confused with the other one)

There’s nothing really up with me and guys. I find them very nice to look at and fantasize about, but that’s where it ends. Sexually, men don’t really do it for me. Neither do women. But I do love men romantically. You know, intimacy, dating, all that kinda stuff. But when it comes to hittin’ the skins, the factory is closed.

Brother, I don’t really think you’re gay. If you acept Jesus christ as your lourd and Savior you can overcome the deomns of homosexualty. you just need a good womann to put it on you then youll see that you really liked womens all along. –trina

Trina, being gay is not as simple as just having sex with a man (although that is a big part). I’ve had plenty of good women “put it on me”, but I didn’t like it. Never really cared for females since I was in grade school. My focus has always been on guys.

Karsh,

Thank you for this site! I am loving it already and can’t wait to hear more. Are you going to attack social issues like the whole DL phenomenon or the state of Black Gay Pride? It would be interesting to hear this from your perspective of a Black gay youth. You have my support!

Cheers, Richard

One of the few positive e-mails out of the whole lot! I’m glad you like the site Richard. To be honest with you, I’m making all of this up as I go along. I’ve never been quite the activist, so my stances on many hot topics like those would probably lean towards the more conservative take. The DL thing and Black Gay Pride (or just Pride in general) are topics I plan to touch on. And as far as my perspective from being a Black gay youth, I think that will bring a lot to this site. Many of the e-mails I received reeked of age discrimination, and I think it’s absolutely silly to think that someone younger can’t have a certain viewpoint based on rationality. But it’s cool – the more I hear it, the more I have to say.

And that’s it for this week’s mailbag.
