So after reading the award results from the 2004 Weblog Awards, I finally came to a decision…we need to have some Black Weblog Awards. For reals. They’d be like the Source Awards, except no one would get shot or stabbed. Hopefully.
After checking through the nominees, I counted maybe…oh…12 or 13 out of 100? I guess that’s better than previous years, but most of these were in the “Best Middle East or African Blog”. Don’t even get me started on the whole “Best LGBT Blog” thing. Only recognition you get in these kind of spitting contests is who can be the biggest pundit or spout the most political rhetoric.
So I’m saying…can we get down with this? I’d be all set to have this bad boy up and running and have some prizes doled out for…drumroll please…the 2005 Black Weblog Awards! I’ll even throw in an LGBT category!

I saw this a few weeks back and it was all self-serving and all the blogs seemed the same; BLAND. White folks giving recognition for being white.
Only if Monique hosts. She can do that Beyonce number again.
