New York did more than give me a change of scenery, it put me in the right frame of mind to knock out some of these 101 in 1001 tasks! Check it:
- #6 and #7: Sandy Springs Music offers some pretty affordable voice and violin lessons. I’ll be looking more into this come the spring.
- #8: I got a bokken from EJ and Prime and Opportunity got me a book on bokken swordsmanship. Here I come!
- #17: So far, I’ve mowed down Me Talk Pretty One Day and Home to Harlem. Currently working on 60 People To Avoid At The Water Cooler.
- #24: Day 8 and counting. Barq’s will be my weakness though. It’s the one with bite!
- #35: I’m thinking of taking the train to New Orleans or DC…but 13 hours? At least Amtrak makes it sound cozy.
- #38: I bought tickets to see “Little Shop of Horrors” on February 5th. Oh, and early notice for you Jill Scott fans…she’s performing in Atlanta at the Fox Theatre one night only; March 2nd. You betta be there!
- #43: I took the pictures an uploaded them into Flickr, but this thing is giving me fits! I create one photoset and it says I’ve done three and can’t do anymore. Hmph. Now to get the WordPress plugin working.
- #44: Accomplished! I bought this very cool, very kick-ass wool 3/4 black wool coat from Old Navy for only $30.
- #60: I can’t decide between Ives, Prokofiev, Debussy & Ravel in February, Dawson and Gershwin at the beginning of March, and Berlioz’s “Faust” around my birthday. Man!
- #64: I will try to do this on Sunday…it’s going to be hard.
- #75: Malik? A little help?
- #77: Accomplished! Nautica grey fleece bathrobe and flannel moccasins from TJMaxx for $22 combined.
- #79: I’m screening Akira tomorrow night. The other two will be more difficult, especially since Ruruoni Kenshin is a 22-disc set.
- #91: Accomplished! And I have the pics to prove it…coming shortly.
- #100: I bought this glass mug/loose-leaf infuser plus five teas (Darjeeling Puttabong, Masala Green Chai, Gyokuru Imperial, Sweet Cranberry Black, and some Brazillian Maracuya Passionfruit ). Nothing better after a long day than a nice cup of tea.
So…how you doin’?
I just finished David Sedaris’s latest, “Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim.” Hilarious!! If you liked “Me Talk Pretty One Day,” you’ll love this one. See? Here’s someone you could take a page from: he took his messed up, dysfunctional family and turned them into millions of copies sold. Yes, Karsh, I’m looking at you…
Road to 101
Some people are making short work of their lists, but I’m enjoying the scenic route. Don’t look at me like that. Anyway, I am making some sort of progress through my 101/1001 objectives, considering much of my time these days…
I read Lee Hayes Passion Marks on the plane to and from Atl. Intense I tell you a must read… Did you call the Fox usher hotline so you can see jill for free? I’m seeing her in NYC March 5 (date nite)
The usher thing ain’t gonna work; the class isn’t until April and the concert’s in March.
Its really not a class, it just a walk thru session takes like 30 mins. All u need is a white shirt, black pants and a small flashlight. Jill puts on a GOOOD show
Very nice. Which Old Navy did you get the coat or did you buy it online? (Clearly, I want one.)
