First Morgan Freeman wins Best Supporting Actor for “Million Dollar Baby” and now Jamie Foxx wins Best Actor for “Ray”.
Beyoncé mangles sings three out of the five songs nominated for Best Music (Song).
P. Diddy mucks up his lines. C’mon P!
The Magic Johnson skit was hilarious. And no, I didn’t see White Chicks. But it’s in my Netflix queue!
Oprah and Halle. Just because.
And Chris Rock hosted it all.
The Blacks cleaned up at the Oscars. Latinos made history tonight too with Jorge Drexler’s “Al Otro Lado Del Rìo” for The Motorcycle Diaries Best Music (Song) win, not only being the first Latin song nominated for the category, but winning it too! Congrats to all the people of color making their place in Hollywood and being recognized!
Oh, and Sean Penn? You’re an asshole. Learn to take a joke, pal.
Damn…I knew I should have watched it!!!!
Much to my own surprise, I actually watched the whole show (and praise Jesus, it ended before midnight ET). Morgan Freeman (who I’ll always remember as “Easy Reader” on “The Electric Company” way back in the day) is always a class act. P Diddy was at his usual p-diddliest, nothing new there. Beyonce singing in French with a Texas accent was an event. And Sean Penn was indicative of how self-absorbed and overly self-important some people in Hollywood are.
While I was happy for Jamie Foxx, I’m still wondering why folks weren’t/aren’t giving Don Cheadle his due respect.

Amen to that! Maybe next year will be his year with Tishomingo Blues.
And Sean? Sheesh…the guy gets one Oscar and all of a sudden he’s the moral majority for Hollywood actors? Up yours, pal!
I am very anti-television, but I watched the Oscars from start to finish. I enjoyed the diversity dominance as well as the musical content. Eric Bishop’s win put a little extra fuel in my tank 2 focus and succeed in life.
Carlos Santana? Andrew Lloyd Webber? Performing? That was hella cool. Jay-Z and Puffy @ the Oscars and looking like THEY BELONG THERE? Off the chain. Chris Rock killing BUSH on national television? Priceless.
The Pepsi commercials sucked.
UP NEXT: Don Cheadle…or I’m a snap!
Any Given Monday
I missed the Oscars last night, but I got the highlights from Karsh.
Cheadle was shut out. Sad that so many of us circled around Jamie. His performance was good, but not riveting.
Morgan’s recognition was overdue.
I’m happy for Jamie. Now, let’s hope his next roles don’t totally suck, like Cuba Gooding’s and Halle Berry’s did.
I’m with everyone else about how Don Cheatle got robbed. Jamie Foxx did a mighty fine impersonation. He’s no Don Cheatle.
