• Bernie directs those who want Rashawn Brazell's story and murder to be noticed by the media to do something about it. I'm getting together a template letter to send out to media to help make it easier for more people to voice their opinions.
• Color or content? Shakespeare aside, that is the question both this month and next as Black bloggers (or blogging while Black, whichever you prefer) step into the spotWhite light to make their voices known. In March (at SXSW), Blogging While Black with Monique, George, Jason, Tony, Lynne and Tiffany. In April, Color or Content?: Does Race Matter When You Blog? Oh, how I wish I could attend! Take pictures! Make us proud!
• Black folks ask for "proper" media coverage on the Rashawn Brazell murder and we get this, a plastic bag cartoon and a smart-ass toned Gothamist post. Thank you, Donald, for calling them to task.
• Speaking of which, I hope to hell Atlantaist doesn't see the light of a monitor.

Entertainment

• A Current Affair is returning to television. Maybe it can bring back that much needed gritty realism and shameless pandering to the LCD that shows like Inside Edition and Access Hollywood miss by offering zero-calorie star shenanigans.
• The Rock as Johnny Bravo? I already saw him "bring it on" in Be Cool this weekend; if he does the chest jump, I may just have a coronary.
• Nikka Costa's album can'tneverdidnothin is coming out May 24th! And she's on tour!
• My American Idol recaps:
  • Scott - Good, but about to go.
  • Bo - Awesome performance. He is definitely out to win.
  • Anthony - Go. Home.
  • Nikko - Great voice, and a seemingly nice guy. I think Anwar's got him beat on both counts though.
  • Travis - Dude, it's a wrap. Bobby Brown?
  • Mario - <cue buzzer sound>
  • Contstatine - More like Cantstayintune. You're outta here!
  • Anwar - Can he do no wrong in this competition?

  • Amanda - Tina Turner you ain't. Go. Home.
  • Janay - What is up with that little shimmy thing she does in the camera while she sings? Couple that with her deer-in-headlights look and you can tell her 15 minutes were up about 14:59 ago. It's a wrap.
  • Carrie - The only Pisces in the competition! w00t! Great voice.
  • Vonzell - She's aiight.
  • Nadia - She continues to work it every week. The folks with the hair are doing it up big this season!
  • Lindsey - Nothing spectacular.
  • Mikalah - Your voice is not that deep. She's an annoying mix of Fran Drescher, Barbra Striesand and a drag queen. It's over.
  • Jessica - Nice effort. You're skating by into the Top 12.

Miscellaneous

• What is the deal with body sprays? First Axe and now Tag? Is body spray the new soap and water? A topical version of Febreze, perhaps? I sampled both these "fragrances" at my local drug store. Not impressed. Actually, Axe smells more like Tinactin. John Madden needs to get on the horn with those folks.
