From the inbox of karsh[at]blackgayblogger[dot]com: Who's gay? Who cares?is tyler perry gay that any one of u know of? henry I dunno. Try checking Tyler's website. Is ibrahem afrom surviroe gay? he had sa gay face kuthor343@———.com "Gay face"? You're asking me if Ibrehem from Survivor is gay because you think he has a gay face? Hmm…I'm struggling on an answer for this. Do I think he's gay? I've seen the show…I don't think so. Pretty, yes. Gay, no. But what constitutes a gay face? Plucked eyebrows? Obvious color contacts? Glossy lips? Help me out here, folks. So do you think the Rock and Vin Diesel are gay? The Rock just did that gay movie and Vin has never talked about being with a woman! They could be a couple like in that picture! Laura Stay out of my fantasies! Are Anwar (guy with dreads) and Mario (cute latino guy) from American Idol gay? Sal I dunno. Ask Chris Thomas at AfterElton.com. He seems to have all the answers. General Gay QuestionsYou know, I just read your little entry about having to review a black gay book and a white gay book. I don't understand what your problem is. What's so "damn interesting" about cock? Are you under the misapprehension that "cock" is mostly a white gay male thing? It's not! Gary (black gay and PROUD DAMMIT!) You're right. I think it all depends on frequency, not what you think is my "misapprehension". Men refer to that noble shaft hanging above the balls by many different names. Knob. Schlong. Penis. Peter Johnson (no lie). A large number of texts I've read written by white gay men tend to float between a number of different terms, but cock tends to stand out the most. I've heard and seen Black guys use it too. And Asians and Hispanics. It's just a word for cripes sake. One that when I read it in erotic texts turns me completely off. Gays like you make me sick. I an referring to your entry about Rashawn Brazell's murder and the lack of media coverage and comparing it to Matthew Shepard. Matthew Shepard was a fine, upstanding member of the gay community and police had already deemed the murder a hate crime. Has that been done in Brazell's case? NO! Maybe once the killer is caught and everything, the media will say something about it. Until then, stop ragging on reputable sources like Queerday and Gay.com (which is fabulous! They have a black guy writing for them, Keith Boykins. Did you know THAT?) who do more every day for the gay community than you ever could in your entire life! I just don't understand what the big deal is!!!! a——-@gay.com I'll be addressing this in another entry. How come minorities have diffrent prides than the normal gay pride? I never understood that; when i go to pride (i am mixed white and asian), i see all colors of people. And then in the city where I am, there are black gay prides and latino gay prides…i just don't understand. What happened to just GAY PRIDE???? John I think it all boils down to culture. The "normal gay pride" you speak of…what makes it normal? Because there's no racial prefix? Black gay prides, Latino gay prides, Asian gay prides…these celebrations bring together a mix of culture, heritage and sexuality into a celebration. I can't attest for other minority gay prides, but the BGPs I've went to have been far more intellectual and pro-active about discussing issues in the black gay community which your "normal gay pride" just doesn't touch. I think once bigotry, prejudice and racism in the gay community come to a halt, this all races, all cultures gay pride will happen. Until then, to each their own. how come websites like adam4adam and men4now are so predominately black? i'm a Latino guy in NYC and i have no interest in Black men, but when i go to sites like these, that'salll I see? is this some kind of takeover? Gabe Hold up…lemme get this straight. You're in NYC and complaining about going on A4A and/or M4N and only seeing guys you're not attracted to? Here's the simple answer: log off, go outside, and meet some people. You're in NYC for cripes sake; I could understand if you were in…oh…Atlanta. As far as Blacks populating these sites in large numbers, well, that varies depending on where you live. Back when I had my profiles and I was in Cali, there were nothing but White guys on these sites. YMMV, naturally. Site QuestionsWhy is your site called Black Gay Blogger? Isn't that racist? You don't see anyone with a site called White Gay Blogger. Chris The typical kneejerk reaction to my site name. I've gotten e-mails before where people have been like "I would read your site, but it seems like you only cater to Black people since it's called Black Gay Blogger. Jesus, people, get it together. I'm Black, I'm gay, and I blog. It's just that simple. No secret political meanings, no racial proclivities, and no reason for someone not to read. BTW, the domain name for whitegayblogger.com is available. Maybe I should buy it…. how come you don't have a blogroll or link to any big name gay bloggers? bytemyazz@——-.com I don't have the blogroll because, well, it would look bad on this current design. Not only that, the people who I read know I read them. I comment, and they comment here. Besides, I don't want to get into the whole politics of "you linked me without my permission" and "how come you don't have me linked on your site when you're linked on mine". My blogroll floats between 40-60 regular reads a day. Some get taken off because a) they're not interesting to me anymore b) they stopped blogging c) they don't update enough or d) I just don't like them. And the reason I don't link to any "big name gay bloggers" is probably because I don't read them or I've read them and they don't interest me. Celebrity gossip, shirtless boys, alcohol consumption and talk of how "fabulous" you are every entry is lame. Get a life. Well, that wraps it up for this week. As always, continue to send me your e-mails at karsh[at]blackgayblogger[dot]com. Now go outside and have a nice day. Filed under: Q&A Comments:
