I spent some considerable time working between London and Atlanta in the 90s and sadly became all too familiar with the mindset displayed by the respondents to your Craig's List advert. That this ignorance and bigotry still exists within American society a decade later saddens me greatly.

I am a humanist believing there are many good things about America and its people, but when I read such examples of the perpetuation of a divided and divisive society I wonder just how culturally advanced America really is…
