Another Meandering Love Poem
Posted on 04/07/06 @ 10:01 pm

with all the other things that might matter
that do matter,
about love and friendship,
it's the tiny, daily pedestrian things we share
that I notice most.
It has become a safety net for my sense of this
chaotic world
knowing you're out there,
seeing so much of it the way I do.
Like the simple joy of a Saturday afternoon storm
or a smiling baby on the way to work.
Like the sudden shock of forgetting your keys
Like pity sex
and what it is about college boys.
It's a trust exercise
falling backward
I know
you'll catch
my joke
