- After deciding to try and hunt down a Wii preorder at Gamespot, Toys"R"Us and Walmart.com with no luck, I decided I'll just have to do a Saturday night camp out somewhere and get one. Yes folks, I am a gamer and it is that serious. I just bought a few new games recently (Marvel Ultimate Alliance for the Xbox and Children of Mana for the DS). At this rate, I may have to start a gaming category. Hmm….
- I will have another blogcast up by this weekend, time permitting. This one will probably be a little more freeform, as I will have a special guest. Oh, didn't I mention that with the method I'm bringing interviews back? (Yeah!)
- While coming home yesterday, I saw a billboard on I-20 near the Downtown connector of a nice looking Black man in his early 40s with the phrase "I Questioned Homosexuality. Change is Possible. Discover How." next to it. This crap is the latest ad campaign by the right-wing group Focus on the Family and their Love Won Out conference which is scheduled to
congeal in a gutter somewhere take place this weekend in Woodstock, GA. Now why they'd put that billboard up in the middle of downtown when Woodstock is some thirty-odd something miles away is beyond me. Maybe by putting it in the heart of the city, they'll reach out to recruit more members into their desperate flock of Bible-hugging losers. Sad to say, one, if not all, of my exes would probably be in attendance. And these conference speakers? Soooooooo gay! Y'all ain't foolin' me. Will there be a protest? And if so, can I get a ride?
This is also mentioned over at duanemoody.com and Atlanta Metblogs. — Ed.
- I was supposed to go meet a guy for a lunch date on Sunday, but he half-assed cancelled on me, giving me the most unconvincing "something else came up" excuse I've heard in a while. I mean it was like he wasn't even trying. Or worse, reading from a script like a telemarketer. Of course, as is par for the course with the Atlanta menfolk, else equals better as in "I'll mark your offer as tentative unless something better comes along." Which I guess in this case did. That's what I get for talking to a "thug" with Photoshop-stylized pictures of himself with Gucci typed under them. *sigh*
- You know what sucks about being a good boy? Everything.
- Oh, and in case you hadn't heard…
I'll be in the Big Apple November 10-15 for a much-needed vacation. Maybe I'll see you there!

OK Karsh, now I know we haven't been in touch like we should be, but…
He had typed Gucci into his photograph? That's like… no that is telling on one self.
Head up, bro.

I've seen that billboard too and what I find really interesting - besides the fact that its huge and its over a major freeway in downtown Atlanta - is that there's a black man in the ad. Looking at the website there's not a single black face on it but somehow a black man has been enlisted to be the poster child for their campaign. Says a lot about who they're deliberately trying to market to (recruit). On the one hand it pisses me off because its so blantantly manipulative and says a lot about the overt homophobia that exists here. But on the other hand I know there'll be a gang of self hating brothas up in there trying to get changed and I can't get with that either. Sad.

First of all, thanks for the mention! =o) As for the billboard, I drove by it this weekend, and thought to myself… I should climb up there, and put a little "not" between "change is" and "possible"… level the playing field…

After Focus on the Anus leaves town, somebody should buy billboard space and put up a sign "I Tried to Change. It Isn't Possible."

You should check out this website:
http://www.truthwinsout.org/
Truth Wins Out is a group put together by Wayne Benson to counter the hateful lies of groups like Love Won Out by bringing to the forefront people who went through these programs and regretted it.
Send a small check if you're not too busy.
