BGB Roll Call
Posted on 01/21/08 @ 3:24 pm

In my almost five years of doing this blog, I don't think I've ever really gotten a chance to hear from you lurkers out there. You know who you are…the ones who'll come by now and again just to see what's new or what's changed, but maybe haven't left a comment or fired me an e-mail or anything.

So let me know already, would ya?Leave me a comment and let me know who you are, where you're from, what you do, and what you want to see on this blog in 2008. (Chances are many of you will say "the blogcast", which I'm well aware of already.)

Have at it!

  1. I've been reading you for about a year now. I live in New Jersey, a straight woman, college-educated, a fellow Pisces (sometimes I can feel some of your frustrations with day to day stuff)and I like your blog as it is. I found it through clicking on the link that Rod 2.0 provides for other sites. How's your new relationship going?

  2. Well, I was a lurker then decided to say something in late 07 here and on twitter to ya. I live in Austin, family in Powder Springs in your hood, multiple grad from UT, been creating tech for the Internet and Web for a long while. I like your blog alot - perhaps you can talk about some of the latest technologies you like, or your media favorite topics outside of the Web? Congrats, as usual, on all things.

  3. I have been visiting this page for about a two years now. If I remember correctly, I came here for technological reasons(google, you gotta love it)and stayed for the sheer wit; I'm always amused by your sardism. At other times though sorrowful for some of the things you go through. I hate to say this, but I don't run across alot of african-american gay males with intelligence–or, just to be honest, a decent amount of common-sense. could just be where I'm from…

Anyway, keep doing what you do, I'll keep reading and grinning…

  5. I'm been lurking here for at least three years. I first started reading you when I was in grad school at FAMU. I can't even remember how I found you….maybe through ej's blog. I'm originally from Austin, Texas and now living in Minnesota. I am eagerly anticipating the return of your podcasts and I really enjoyed your updates around the 101 in 1001 project. I hope you do it again!

  6. Although we know each other outside of the blogosphere (though not out of the virtual world, yet), I don't think I've ever commented on your blog, so here goes. I'm Ryan, originally from Cincinnati, calling Los Angeles my home right now. I'm some big shot at AOL, I do all kinds of cool sh!t. I don't know how long I've been reading, but it's been a while, and I always enjoy it. I just hope to see more of the same awesomeness in 2008.

  7. I'm a college sophomore in Atlanta from Oakland, and I've been reading or 'lurking' ur blog for about a year. I do miss the blogcasts of course. I want to know more about what you think of the next generation of BGM coming up in Atlanta, and more reflections from the past.

  8. Wish you posted more. For me it's hard to find Black Gay Men who have blog about personal stuff and not just politics or Black specific issues. I don't mind reading it but sometimes I just like reading about every day life. I wish there were more in my age group. Keep up the good work and I am reading.

  9. Hi, I'm a straight black female in Houston, I think I found you through jbrotherlove or NovaSlim, but at any rate I dig your style and hate that you aren't writing more. Salud!

  12. I'm a fellow lurker. I'm a bi black female from Jersey. I stumbled upon your site about a year ago because I actually typed 'black gay blogger' in Google's search engine one night. Then behold, I found you. I check in every now and then and I'm most interested in your relationship, job, family drama. I just love to read about your mom. How is she, anyway???

  13. what up karsh? I started reading your blog when I subscribed to its feed back in October or so…then today I realized that we've been following each other on twitter without evening knowing it! How's the new relationship man? You are doing the darn thing with this blog man..

  14. I think I found your site through Blackademic.com when it was still going strong. I'm a bi black chick in Northern Virginia. I read BGB for the tech news and views, the commentary on black and gay issues and just the overall snarky view on life. I've also found some great music through your blogcasts as well as from some of the folks on your blogroll (e.g., The Brotherlove and Mandrake Society Radio). Also, you don't seem to suffer fools gladly and I can relate!
