Is this thing on? Good.
- What a week for politics! Former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer got caught with his dick in the cookie jar for being involved in a prostitution scandal. Geraldine Ferraro says Barack Obama woudln't be where he is had he been a White man (and then plays the tragic martyr role when she steps down from the Clinton campaign). Kwame Kilpatrick delivers his State of the City address, and blasts the media in a way akin to stuntin' on the red carpet. But in the midst of all this, we'll soon see the nation's fourth Black governor, (behind Deval Patrick, L. Douglas Wilder and P.B.S. Pinchback) David Paterson. Things are going to get more interesting from here on in.
- Somehow, I stopped tuning into NPR's Morning Edition, and have ended up listening to the Frank and Wanda Morning Show on V-103. It's not because I don't like Morning Edition — Hell, I donate to public radio. But that 7am shift can be murder sometime, and Wanda's harsh laugh wakes me up quicker than Steve Inskeep's dulcet tenor. It's sort of like coffee for the mind. Anyway, this morning, they were discussing why Atlanta is such a bad city for single people (single straight people, I'm presuming). Frank talked about how they only hype up clubs and parties, but nothing in the way of theatre or the arts or things for single people to do. Invariably, that got me to thinking about how shitty Atlanta is for gay singles. Well, for gay singles that aren't the club type. Those pickings are even slimmer. Don't even get me started on actual dating. So I think I'm going to put on the Carrie Bradshaw hat for the next blogcast and discuss that. It will probably come out sometime next week since I have plans for my upcoming birthday on Tuesday.
- What else…oh yes; I'm hosting the first GayGamer.net Atlanta Meetup next Saturday (March 22). If you're a gay gamer in the Atlanta area and want to join, leave a comment and I'll add you to the invite list. Speaking of gaming, currently I'm playing both Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Bully: Scholarship Edition on the Wii, Lost Odyssey and Eternal Sonata on the Xbox 360 and I just finished Apollo Justice:Ace Attorney on the Nintendo DS.
- So let's see…gaming, politics, blogging…wish I had more of an update, but I'm kinda spent on topics these days. I'll probably start over at Atlanta Metroblogging again next week if I can get some more ideas. I've been knee deep in work and school. You know, the usual suspects. Things have settled into a fairly comfortable rut (as opposed to the events of just a few months ago). It's rough, but Hell…it could always be worse.
